Forever 21 Disappointment!

On Wednesday Forever 21 opened it's doors to shoppers in London along Oxford Street. Many of you will know that Forever 21 is massively popular in America but here in the UK there was only one store which was in Birmingham. With a store in London being very accessible for me and many others i was hugely excited to go and have a snoop around and see for myself what was so great about it.  So today i decided it would be the ideal time to go window shopping along Oxford street with my boyfriend as we both wanted to do something fairly cheap and enjoy the lovely sunshine.

I wasn't that impressed at how the store looked as soon as i walked in, maybe i was expecting too much? but by the time i had made my way to the back of the store it had more of the wow factor. The staircase was so pretty, there were chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, the Forever 21 logo was gently dotted around the store, not too in your face and it just had a really nice sparkly feel about it. And to add to that, the store was still very tidy.

Of course with the store looking so lovely i thought i'd take a couple of photos to post on here, show you what it was like and tell you all about my trip. Unfortunately that's where it all went wrong. My boyfriend was really kindly taking a photograph for me as the quality on his iphone is much better than mine, when a woman came over, grabed his arm and told him quite loudly and aggressively that 'you cannot take photos inside the store'. She then walked off in very pompous manner before we even had a chance to say a word. I presume she was a manager or supervisor of some sort but i can't be sure. A few other people in the store saw what went on and looked a bit shocked. It didn't say anywhere in the store that photography wasn't allowed and there were other people taking photographs and not being told to stop. The woman (who was definitely a member of staff as she had a forever 21 badge on) then proceeded to stare at us as we looked around. We both felt so uncomfortable and shocked at what had just went on that we left the store, pronto. So quickly in fact that i didn't even have a chance to look at any of the prices. I couldn't believe the way we had just been treated!

Here is how the photo we were trying to take ended up after the woman grabbed Liams arm! I'm very annoyed that i didn't get to have a good look around and enjoy the experience in the store. I had been looking forward to going there once it had opened as i had heard so many good things about it from girls in the US. All i can say is that she really shouldn't of been so unbelievably rude to someone with a blog, as quite rightly i want to tell you all about my bad experience. It's such a shame that this extremely rude person ruined my visit as from what i did see it looked great!

Wish List

If you follow me on Twitter you'll know that i'm currently unemployed due to just moving to London. I'm on the hunt for a job but it's proving a little difficult and i'm really struggling with not having any income. So today i foolishly decided to going online window shopping, DOH. I thought i'd do a post to show you all the things i've been lusting over.

  • Eyes Kit
  • F10 Powder/Blush brush
  • F40 Large Angled Contour brush
  • F25 Tapered Face brush
  • Synthetic Face Kit

Believe it or not i don't own any Sigma brushes what so ever. Even when i was employed i never earned enough to be able to pay for the brushes and the really expensive shipping on top of all my other monthly outgoings. I was browsing their website earlier and worked out that it would make more sense to buy all of the brushes i want at the same time as it works out cheaper for shipping. I also managed to find a 10% off code, so i'm now fighting the temptation to not take £100 from my savings and buy these! eeeeek.

  1. Headkandy Hair extensions - I already have one set which, 2-3 months in i am still completey in love with, i really want another set in a different colour so i can dye my hair and have them to match.
  2. Jergens Naturals Skin Firming Moisturiser - My mum has a bottle of this back in Wiltshire and from what I used of it, I loved it. I need to have my own bottle!
  3. Sleek Pout Paints - I have been sooo excited for the release of these, I can never seem to find the shades i like and i can finally create my own.
  4. Avon's Wish Of Love Perfume - I used to use this a couple of years ago and it smells so fresh and clean. Avon don't stock it anymore and i really want to get a few bottles. If you know where i can buy it or a dupe for it, let me know!
  5. Sleek Blush in Rose Gold - I've heard that this an amazing dupe for Nars Orgasm, so me being the bargain hunter I am I have to have it.
  6. Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation - I got a sample of this about a month ago and really liked it but didn't think it was worth the money. But since my sample ran out i've found that none of my other foundations seem to live up to it,  at all. I'll definitely be getting myself a bottle of this once i've become employed again.
  7. Sleek's Oh So Special Palette - I love sleek palettes, I swatched this in Superdrug and completely fell in love.
If you've tried any of these products then let me know what you thought/think of them, i'd love to hear your thoughts before i go and buy them.

Natural Collection Rose Petal Lipstick Review.

A little while ago i noticed that Natural Collection make up was 3 for £5 in Boots. With me being such a big fan of their make up i couldn't resist buying a few things. Unfortunately my local Boots didn't stock the lipstick i wanted but i did pick up a a different one in the shade Rose Petal.

I'm not at all adventurous when it comes to lipstick colours and this is about as far is it goes for me. It is a soft pink with slight coral undertones and i would say it's a 'my lips but better' colour. As with all Natural Collection lipsticks that i've tried it isn't drying on the lips but i would also say it's not as moisturising as Apple Blossom. It glides on really nicely and is reasonably pigmented for a £1.99 lispstick.

Every time i buy another shade of these lipsticks i like them more and more. They are definitely worth the money! Let me know what Natural Collection shades you're loving.

Next Sale Haul

I'm really sorry this is so late! I've not been able to get any decent photographs, and what's a haul post with no photos? so I thought 'better late than never'. As most of you probably know the next sale started on Saturday and everything in the store was reduced. Some crazy people even got up at 4am to get there early. On Saturday I went shopping at Cabot Circus in Bristol with my boyfriend and his family and I would of been stupid not to pop in.

I had a brief look around and managed to find a pair of grey skinny jeans in my size reduced from £30 to £15. The changing rooms were closed so i bought them there and then hoping they were going to fit. Getting jeans that fit perfectly are notoriously hard to find but i was so surprised when i got home and found these fit like a glove.

sorry for the poor quality

When i got home my mum wanted to see my days purchases and i found out she had no idea about the next sale. So of course off we went to our nearest next to pick up some more bargains. It was so quiet as it was around 6.00pm so we got to have a really good look around. My mum bought loads of bargains and I managed to find a gorgeous par of black heels. They were sat on the shelf at eye level in a perfect pair and a size 5. I couldn't believe my luck! I got these for £15 reduced from £30.

I didn't buy much but i am so happy with the bargains i managed to pick up and my mum is very pleased with hers too.

Food Shopping In Harrods?

Yesterday on my travels i popped into the food hall at Harrods just to have a look around. I couldn't help but notice how reasonably priced some of it was considering it was Harrods. In one of the fridges there were piles of really yummy looking baguettes and sandwiches ranging from £3.70 - £5.00. I couldn't get a picture because there were so many tourists in there and the staff were being strict about photography but i did get a really bad quality photo of what i chose. A massive baguette filled with Chicken, Bacon, Egg, Lettuce, Celery, Tomato and Mayonnaise. And this is only half of it, i can safely say i thought i was going to pop after eating it all.

This was only £4.30!

After purchasing my yummy looking baguette i then came across the fresh cakes/deserts. For anyone that knows me you'll know that i am a complete sucker when it comes deserts. There was such a big selection i was spoilt for choice but i ended up going for a strawberry sponge desert. This smelt amazing, and it was packaged in a really nice box. I almost didn't want to eat because it looked so pretty but what crazy person would leave something as yummy looking as that?! so of course it was gone in about 30 seconds. It was only £3.25 and it was worth every penny, it tasted so good!

I was really impressed with the value, quailty and service i got in Harrods and i would definitely consider buying food from there again. Of course not everything is that cheap but if you look at the right things it's definitely worth the money. And most people thought Harrods was for 'posh' people, haha!

Hair Favourites: The Fishtail Braid

As some of you may know i always wear my hair extensions due to having very fine hair. But having long thick locks isn't always the most practical of hairstyles. A few months ago i learnt how to do a fishtail braid and i've been really loving this hairstyle for those 'i need my hair off my face' days. This is such a cute and pretty way to keep your hair tidy and out of the way without having to bung it on top of your head in a messy bun.

It's not the easiest of hairstyles to do but at the same time it's not the hardest. Once you get the hang of the technique you're away. I thought trying to explain it in writing could be a little difficult so if you want to learn how to do it then watch Imogen's (Imogenfoxylocks) video here. This is how i learnt to do it and her video is super helpful. Let me know what hairstyles you're loving at the moment or for the summer.

InStyle Magazine Body Shop Freebies

In Augusts addition of InStyle magazine which is out now they are giving away either a free Body Shop Super Volume Mascara worth £10 or 2 free Body Shop Eye Definers in Black and French Navy worth £16.

About 3 years ago I used a tube of the Body Shop Super Volume Mascara and really liked it. However I couldn't justify spending £10 on mascara when my £1.99 Natural Collection mascara was just as good so it had to take a back seat. When i read it would be in Augusts addition i thought it would be a great opportunity to give it another go. And not to mention the Gorgeous Nicole Scherzinger is on the cover!

I'm just about to leave to go to a friends house to celebrate her birthday so I thought I'd do a quick FOTD to show you my make up. I did attempt an OOTD too but taking a full length picture of my self with no help and no tripod is something I am yet to master. I'm wearing a coral tank top from primark with black leggings, a cream blazer from New Look and Topshop cream banana shoes with a bow on the front. I'm also wearing my Headkany hair extensions loosely curled with a center parting.

Sleek Make Up

Before I started blogging I had never even heard of Sleek and after hearing a lot about it in the beauty community I recently discovered that my local Superdrug stocked it. A few days ago my boyfriend bought me the Storm palette which I was excited about as it was my first ever palette. After swatching it I had to buy it, the colours are mainly neutrals and are very pigmented! Another big bonus is that the price is really affordable at £6.49.

Unfortunately the eyeshadows in this palette don't have names which makes it quite difficult to explain which colours you are wearing, but I think Sleek have now started to name their eyeshadows in their newer palettes. Hooray! In this palette there are 3 matte shades and the rest are shimmery. I personally prefer the simmer shades as I find matte eyeshadows just don't suit me so this palette is great for me. It also comes with an applicator which i don't usually like, but this one isn't that bad, i use it for putting  on my base colour and it works very well.

After swatching these and taking photographs I realised that I had done it all backwards so I apologise if it confuses you slightly but I'm sure you get the drift. As you can see these are so pigmented and they blend very nicely, not to mention they stay put all day.

I also bought a True colour Lipstick in the shade Peaches & Cream. This isn't my usual choice of colour as I always wear a nudes or pinky nudes. I played around with this in the store, it looked so pretty and pigmented and as i was feeling brave that day it soon became mine. It was only £4.00 too, such good value for money.

I'm still not 100% sure of the colour on me but I think that is something I will get used to the more I wear it. The formulation is absolutely gorgeous, it's so soft and moisturising  and it stays on longer than any other lipstick I have tried so far.

Because i love my sleek palette so much and after watching Louise's video (Sprinkleofglitter) i have decided i want to collect them all. I've also been eyeing up another lipstick in the shade Baby Doll. I think it's safe to say i have become a bit of a sleek addict. If anyone of you have tried their foundation let me know your thoughts.

Natural Collection Favourites

I tried posting this about a month ago and when I posted it the whole thing turned into a crazy code and I could not get my original text and pictures back, booo :( so here I am writing it up all over again!
Natural Collection (available in Boots) is a brand that doesn't get much focus. I have been purchasing various products from their range since I can remember and I can honestly say some of them have become a permanent item in my make up bag, so here I am sharing my love for them with you and most of their products are £1.99!! Bargain.
First off is their Loose Powder in the shade Neutral Translucent. I've used this for years and recently I've been experimenting with different powders but I keep finding myself going back to this. It goes on so flawlessly and doesn't leave you with that horrible dusty look that some other powders give you. I've also found that this shade goes nicely with most skin colours. It doesn't give you a completely matte finish but at the same time it sets your make up and gets rid of any obvious shine.

Next up is the Lash Build Mascara in black. This is literally the only mascara I ever use, I get so many compliments on my eyelashes and I always put it down to this. I actually prefer this product when it's a few weeks old and is more of a gloopy texture as it coats and curls my eyelashes much nicer than it does when it's brand new. I get round that buy mixing my brand new tube with my old dried out ones, perfect! And it doesn't make your eyelashes feel dry and crusty once it's dried, which leads to easy removal and no horrible eye scrubbing. I cannot say anything bad about it, I love it.

Finally their Lipstick in Apple Blossom. Now I know a lot of people have hated this but at £1.99 I had to see why so many people disliked it, not only that it looks so lovely swatched I couldn't understand what was so bad. Some of you may know I have really pigmented lips and I struggle to find a Lipstick that covers the natural colour of them and gives me a nice pinky nude finish which doesn't try my already dry lips out even more. I really don't understand what people dislike about it, It's moisturising, it stays on for a good amount of time, and it looks gorgeous! Not to mention I have had this a few months and I'm still on my first tube, that's pretty good going. I think It's safe to say this is my favourite lipstick of my entire collection and at £1.99 I can use it as much as I like because it's so cheap to replace.

I'll definitely be trying out more Lipstick shades and I've also heard that some of their Eyeshadows are great too. Let me know what you love from Natural Collection.

Make Up Removing Routine

I thought I'd share with you how I remove my make up simply because I have never seen anyone use the method I use and I find it is 100% the best way to get it of without having to scrub at my face and eyes.

I start by using Johnson's facial cleansing wipes. All of the Johnsons facial wipes are great so I just pick up which ever ones I fancy or what ever is on off (everyone loves a bargain). I find these full of moisture and they can get off the toughest make up without drying out (like a lot of other brands). I use these just on my face to remove my foundation and eyebrow pencil.

I then use the Garnier complete cleansing milk to remove my eye make up. Although it's called a 'cleansing milk' it's not runny and more of a light cream consistency. I take a pea sized amount on my finger and rub it into my eye (keeping it shut). I am then left with what I like to call a panda eye. I then take the face wipe I used to remove my foundation to wipe off the black mess from around my eye and do the same for the other eye. Voila, make up is gone.

This method removes my mascara without pulling and rubbing at my eyelashes which leaves them very thick and long. I also find that using these make up wipes doesn't leave my skin sore or aggravated from all the rubbing and just leaves it feeling fresh and clean. I hope this has helped and I would love to know if any of you use the technique.

My week in photos

This week my boyfriends family have been over from Ireland so I have been so unbelievably busy and have had no time to even sit down, let alone blog. But I thought I would take a few photographs of my week to show you what I had been up to.

My week has consisted of... a meal out on Sunday followed by a trip to an animal sanctuary and then on to Weston Super-Mare. Work on Monday then a meal at a TGI Fridays. Thorpe Park on Tuesday Followed by another meal out. Birstol zoo, shopping at Cribbs Causeway and a meal out on Wednesday. Shopping in Cabot Circus and a Nandos on Thursday. My last ever day at work on Friday and a meal at Giraffe and finally today, I popped into town to get a few things and started packing ready to move to London tomorrow. wow!
